Seven years in the making, Chateau Musar Red is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, and Cinsault from vineyards near the Bekaa Valley villages of Aana and Kefraya on gravelly soils over limestone. Planted from the 1930s onwards, yields are low from these mature bush vines (average age: 40 years): Between 15 to 35hl per hectare.
Pairing Ideas: Nothing is better than roasted lamb dishes and a Chateau Musar blend for those chilly nights. This silky and luxurious blend is powerful and robust with aromas and flavors of blackberry, fresh-picked blueberries, and spice.
About: Over the hills and far away, many people ask why Chateau Musar's winery is more than a two-and-a-half-hour drive from the vineyards in the Bekaa Valley. When Gaston Hochar began making wine in 1930, the boundaries of Lebanon had yet to be set, and he wanted to ensure that his premises would be inside the newly demarcated country.
